During winters and low temperatures, the league season starts in March and ends in November. The league consists of several Meistriliiga club reserved teams. As per the prestigious rules of the Estonian Football Association, the reticent groups cannot promote the Meistriliiga but are eligible to play in the Estonian Cup League.

During the match time, the teams play almost four times, two times at home and two times in the foreign lands. Nearly 36 games are played per season, and teams score three points to win. There are many teams like Legion, Flora II, Vaprus, Tammeka II, etc. Reserve teams in Estonia play with the same team where their seniors participate. However, these reserve team members should represent just one level below their seniors. This is one of the foremost reasons they are not eligible for the Meistriliiga promotions.
